I see what you mean, Batman's head seems likes it's floating above his body. Keep up the good work though

Skyline, I would get yourself a big bit of black poster paper and shoot indoors with a lamp as your light source.
Switch the flash off and any lights in the room and just play with the position of the lamp till you get an effect you like, then use the timer on the camera and whammo!
Flashes can be good, but I find they tend to add too much glare making the plastic too shiny and reflective and they dump too much light right at the center of the shot.

Oh this is the truth!
I hardly use flash now because of this very purpose. I wanted to ask a question about settings on the camera.

When it is referred to lower the shutter speed, where would I find this option?? Or is it only availabe to the DSLR Camera's?

Just for King Wombat, I thought i'd post this up as he asked about it.
Macro Mode

I also wanted to ask your guys opinion on these two settings on my camera. I have focus and Metering Mode??
What would i use these options for and how can they benefit me in toy photography, or are they unimportant?

Using a remote flash, photographing with the D300, with a remote and tripod, in RAW, a few tweaks in photoshop too...
